Insurance Policy - Protection
Basic Insurance CDW – included in the price
Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.)
The basic CDW insurance reduces the renter’s liability for damage to the rental vehicle up to the excess amount that applies to the selected car category.
- For car groups A, A4, A5, B, B1, B3, the excess amount is €700.
- For car groups C, C1, C2, C4, the excess amount is €800.
- For car groups D, D2, D4, D5, F, T, the excess amount is €1000.
- For car groups E, E2, E4, E5, the excess amount is €1200.
- For car groups G, G2, G4, G5, H, H2, H4, the excess amount is €1400.
- For car groups T1, T2, T3, the excess amount is €1500.
- For car groups K, K2, K3, K4, K5, the excess amount is €1600.
- For car groups I, I2, I4, the excess amount is €1800.
- For car groups L1, L2, the excess amount is €2500.
- For car groups L3, L4, L5, L6, the excess amount is €3500.
For bookings with basic insurance, the excess amount is reserved on a credit card in the driver’s name for the duration of the rental. The pre-authorized amount is released after the end of the rental, provided that the vehicle is returned without damage or other pending charges.
Optional Premium / Full Insurance
Full Collision Damage Waiver with No Excess (F.D.W.)
The renter can be released from the above CDW excess amounts by choosing the Premium / Full Insurance package, where available, with a daily premium depending on the selected car category.
- For car groups A, A4, A5, B, B1, B3, C, C1, C2, C4, daily premium €10.
- For car groups D, D2, D4, D5, E, E2, E4, E5, daily premium €11.
- For car groups F, G, G2, G4, G5, T, daily premium €12.
- For car groups K, K2, K3, K4, K5, H, H2, H4, daily premium €14.
- For car groups I, I2, I4, T1, T2, T3, daily premium €16.
The insurance premium prices mentioned above apply to bookings made through our website or by phone. For direct bookings at rental stations, different prices may apply.
With the Premium / Full Insurance package, a credit card is not required as a guarantee. Exceptions may apply only for rentals from Athens Airport and are confirmed by the reservations department before pick-up.
No insurance covers damage to the underside of the vehicle, tires, wheels, glass, mirrors, the interior of the vehicle, key loss, wrong fuel, damage caused by off-road driving or damage resulting from violation of the rental terms.
Third-Party Insurance (T.P.I.)
Third-party liability insurance covers injury or damage to third-party property, according to the applicable insurance coverage and legislation.
Personal Accident Insurance (P.A.I.)
Personal Accident Insurance covers medical expenses for the driver and passengers of the vehicle, according to the terms of the insurance coverage.
Theft Protection (T.P.)
Theft Protection covers the renter’s financial liability in case of theft of the vehicle, according to the terms of the insurance coverage. Personal belongings of the renter or passengers are not covered.
Fire Insurance
Fire Insurance covers damage caused to the rental vehicle by fire, lightning strike or explosion, according to the terms of the insurance coverage.
Cases where insurance does not cover damage
- When the driver is under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substance that affects driving ability.
- When the driver does not stop after an accident or does not follow the required procedures, such as informing the company, the Traffic Police and the insurance company.
- When the vehicle is moved from the accident location without the necessary approval before the required procedures are completed.
- When the vehicle is used for illegal purposes, illegal transportation of objects or goods, racing, testing, towing or any unauthorized use.
- When the vehicle is driven by a person who has not been declared and approved in the rental agreement.
- When the vehicle is driven off-road, on beaches, on unsuitable dirt roads, in mountain areas or on unauthorized routes.
- When the driver violates the traffic regulations, such as speed limits, traffic lights, STOP signs or other basic road traffic rules.
- When damage is caused by gross negligence, misuse or failure to follow the company’s instructions.
Driving Terms
- The driver must always comply with the Greek Road Traffic Code.
- The driver must drive carefully and responsibly and must never drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any condition that may affect driving ability.
- The vehicle must not be used for off-road driving, on beaches, on unsuitable dirt roads or on unsafe routes.
- Damage caused to the underside of the vehicle, tires, wheels or damage caused by off-road driving is not covered by any insurance and is the renter’s responsibility.
- If any warning light appears on the dashboard, the driver must stop safely and contact the company immediately for instructions.
- No person may drive the vehicle unless they have been declared in the rental agreement and approved by the company.
Car Type and Category
The vehicle type and model shown are indicative only. The reservation confirms the car category, not a specific model. In case of non-availability, the company may provide a vehicle of the same or higher category at no extra charge.
Rental Cost Calculation
The rental cost is calculated on a 24-hour basis, starting from the vehicle pick-up time. A grace period of up to 2 hours is allowed for return. After 2 hours, an additional rental day may be charged.
Early Return of the Vehicle
If the vehicle is returned earlier than the scheduled end of the rental period, no refund is given for the unused rental period.
Driving License
A valid national driving license is required, together with an identity card or passport. For drivers from countries outside the European Union, an International Driving Permit may be required.
Minimum Driver Age Requirements
The minimum driver’s age is 21 years, with at least 12 months of valid driving license, for car groups A, B and C. For all other standard car groups, the minimum age is 23 years and the driving license must have been held for at least 24 months.
For luxury car groups L1 to L6, drivers must be at least 25 years old and must hold a valid driving license for at least 24 months.
Drivers over the age of 75 are required to purchase the full insurance package. In these cases, a valid credit card must be presented at pick-up and used as a guarantee, regardless of the insurance coverage selected. An additional fee of €10 per rental day will also apply.
Payment Methods
Payment for the rental is made upon vehicle pick-up, in cash or by Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Usually, no advance payment is required to confirm the booking. In special cases, an advance payment may be requested after notification by the reservations department.
Credit Card and Guarantee
For bookings with basic CDW insurance, a credit card in the driver’s name may be required to reserve the excess amount. With the Premium / Full Insurance package, a credit card is not required as a guarantee. Exceptions may apply only for rentals from Athens Airport and are confirmed by the reservations department before pick-up.
Key Loss
In case of key loss, the renter must inform the company immediately in order to receive instructions or a replacement key. The cost of key replacement is the sole responsibility of the renter and is not covered by any insurance.
Fines and Traffic Violations
Administrative penalties, fines or traffic violations that occur during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the renter. The renter must inform the company of any violation. If a fine or violation is notified after the end of the rental, the relevant charge will be passed on to the renter.
Unlimited Mileage
Most rentals include unlimited daily mileage, unless otherwise stated in the booking terms or agreed with the reservations department.
Booking Change or Cancellation
For any change or cancellation of the booking, the customer must inform the reservations department at least 24 hours before the start of the rental.
Fuel Policy
The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel it had at pick-up. If the vehicle is returned with more fuel, the value of the extra fuel is not refunded.

Child Seats
- Baby seat – suitable for babies up to 3 years old, with an additional charge of €2 per day.
- Child seat – suitable for children over 4 years old, with an additional charge of €2 per day.
GPS Navigation Device
Geographic Restrictions
For rentals in Crete, the vehicle may only be driven within Crete, unless prior written approval has been given by Monza. For rentals from Athens Airport, the vehicle is not allowed to be transported by ferry. Transporting the vehicle to islands or outside Greece is not allowed without prior written approval from the company.
